Sheer Delight

Christopher Kane's amazing spring/summer collection for 2011 was full of neon brights and beautiful, intricate lace and both trends are perfectly demonstrated in his sheer biker jackets.

The sheer jacket is the perfect summer accessory as it offers die-hard biker jacket fans the chance to look summery and stay covered up but without losing any  of the 'edge' that a biker jacket adds to an outfit.

Kane's green and orange lace versions with zip detailing are a great base for working the colour clashing trend into your summer looks. I particularly love how Net-a-Porter have clashed the orange jacket with a simple pink t-shirt and statement printed skirt.

If neon is not your thing however, Karen Millen have come up their own version of the sheer jacket in classic black and neutral shades. Again, they provide the perfect smart yet casual summer cover-up without having to resort to a structured blazer. Unsurprisingly, they also come in quite a bit cheaper than the Christopher Kane version too.

Personally, if money were no object I think I would go for Christopher Kane's orange lace version but in the meantime I might have to settle for Karen Millen's cream version.

If you get a minute or two, you should definitely check out Christopher Kane's Spring/Summer 2011 runway show - it is so summery!
