In the August edition of UK Harper's Bazaar, I came across this utterly amazing photograph by ledgendary photographer David Bailey.
This intimate holiday snap features five of the most iconic names in the history of the fashion industry.
From left to right, the photograph features former model and one of the world's most iconic fashion stylists' Grace Coddington sitting upon the knee of photographer Helmut Newton who in turn is sitting next to shoe designer Manolo Blahnik. Strutting the most fabulous of poses is actress Anjelica Huston whilst photographer David Bailey takes the picture with a remote control.
What I especially love about this photograph is how it hasn't dated at all. This picture was taken 38 years ago but yet if this had been a recent picture in a high fashion magazine it would look every bit as current and fashionable as it must have looked all those years ago. Anjelica's fabulous low cut wrap dress could easily look like a current piece from a Dolce & Gabbana or Gucci collection.
The term 'fashion icon' is used far too often these days to describe someone who has been photographed a couple of times looking reasonably stylish. True fashion icons are those who are still influencing the fashion industry four decades later like this fabulous five...
If rumours are to be believed, the amazing Grace Coddington has penned her memoirs in a tell all autobiography. I absolutely cannot wait to read it.

One of my favourite fashion coffee table books is called Stylist: The Interpreters of Fashion by Sarah Mower's and features all of the most amazing stylists in the world such as Grace Coddington, Carine Roitfeld and Annie Leibovitz. There are so many truly inspiring photographs and stories in this book that I promise you, you will never get tired of looking through it.
