Cushnie et Ochs

The UK edition of Harper's Bazaar is, without doubt, my absolute favourite magazine. It is packed FULL of 300 pages+ of fashion and is the kind of magazine that takes ages to read because there is so much content and editorial and not just full of advertising.

Whilst browsing through the March edition, I came across 3 photographs in quick succession of the brand Cushnie et Ochs from their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I must admit that I didn't really know much about the label so I decided to do some investigation. Now, I can't understand why I haven't seen or heard more about this sexy and sassy brand.

London born Carly Cushnie and American girl Michelle Ochs both graduated from the illustrious Parsons School of Design and, upon completion of their studies, between them they worked for some of the biggest designers in the world including Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta and Proenza Schouler. They then launched Cushnie et Ochs and launched their first collection in Spring of 2009.

Their Spring/Summer 2012 collection was a complete triumph of epic proportions. I loved every single of the 28 looks that sashayed down the runway. The first 11 all-white looks were so crisp and simple yet were really young and edgy too.

Next to take to the catwalk was 3 bubblegum pink, below-the-knee dresses with pencil skirts, sexy cut-outs and flirty necklines, closely followed by some canary yellow and shimmering nude looks.

The last 8 all-black looks closed the show perfectly. The dresses in particular, were so simple and chic and utterly wearable. I loved and want them all...

The girls' Fall 2012 collection showed in New York last week and it was as equally sexy as their Spring showing and I will definitely do another little post about that collection in the near future.
