Sorbet Styling

Mint with black accessories
Pastel shades were all over the S/S 2012 catwalks at Jonathan Saunders, 3.1 Philip Lim and Preen, not to mention Burberry and Christopher Kane.

And if you needed any more convincing about how big a trend it was going to be - all of the most uber stylish bloggers have been spotted wearing this simple but effective trend from their ever-so-pretty heads to perfectly pedicured toes time and time again this season.

What I love about this trend is the variations of how to wear it; some wear just the one pastel shade like mint green and keep the accessories to a minimum. Others, clash their pastel shades to great effect or others mix a sorbet shade with neutrals.

My absolute favourite style blogger is Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific. Her blog is like a kaleidoscope of colours, trends, eras and moods and every day her look is completely unique and styled to perfection. She has also been working the pastels recently in a very good way.

Even some stylish boys are getting involved... because pastels are not just for girls...

The easiest way to embrace this trend without looking like an ice cream cone is to go for the pastel jeans which are, luckily, everywhere just now. If you are quite pale then I would recommend going for a deeper pastel shade such as a coral or pink and avoid too much peach because, well, people might think your naked if your outfit is the exact same colour as your skin and you may well get arrested. These satin jeans from Zara are gorgeous and work really well with cream or white or, if you are feeling brave then try with a slightly different shade of pink or even lilac.

If you're just back from a sunnier climate and want to show off that tan you worked so hard for on the beach then these peach jeans will look fab on you.

Topshop are another high street store to fully embrace the power of pastel this season and have a great selection of sorbet shades which will certainly cleanse the palette.

This cute mint t-shirt from Zara is perfect for teaming with similar shades and I love the studded shoulder detail.

And this vest is perfect to keep you cool on a summers day...

I adore this peachy jersey biker style jacket from Topshop - it is the perfect summer cover up.

So, now that we have our summer wardrobe sorted we just need to work on making this horrible rain go away so that we can show off our stylish sorbet selections.
