Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham debuted her Fall 2013 collection in New York yesterday, once again proving her designer credentials and continuing to impress everyone with her slick and chic designs.

What I really love about her is that there is a real authenticity with her collections. You tell that her confidence has grown massively since her first collection of dresses 2009. As her style has evolved and her technical design ability has improved, her collections have progressively become more and more confident and really reflect her brand.

Creating a strong brand identity is obviously really important to Victoria and I loved reading her insight into being a business women in the recent edition of Elle UK. She admits herself that she is total control freak and struggles to relinquish responsibility and I think this has been the exact reason that her collections have been so well-received. She is involved in every aspect of her brand from marketing and advertising to the actual design of the dresses and the production of the fashion shows. So many 'celebrity designers' are involved in a very minimal way with any design collaboration and really take on more of an advisor role and lend their name to a brand rather than actually designing the collection themselves from scratch.

She looked absolutely stunning in the images and she look much more soft and gentle and beautiful than she ever really gets credit for. And she has 4 kids.... WOW!!

Victoria's first collection of dresses were very formal and extremely fitted in a similar style to her favourite designer at that time Roland Mouret's dresses. I really like the fact now that she has also added much more casual styles such as this belted mini dress is a gorgeous golden khaki shade.

For a similar relaxed feel, this Mango belted dress with pockets, which instantly makes any dress much more informal, is the perfect 'wear-anywear' dress for the summer.

This bright orange A-line mini dress by Mrs B is really simple and chic yet really vibrant, young and fun too.

This orange dress by Karen Millen features the signature zip detailing that Victoria adores so much and is in the same summery bright shade as the VB design.

Another Victoria Beckham design that is just stunning in it's simplicity is this purple fitted high neck dress. It takes a lot of confidence to charge over £1,300 for such a simple dress but it is definitely a timeless, classic, investment piece.

Hybrid do a great range of fitted, tailored dresses which are really flattering and feminine... my essential things that I look for in a good dress! This purple shade is just gorgeous and I love the fact that the peplum detail is quite simple and just at the side of the dress which is great for ensuring that it doesn't add extra inches around your stomach!

This black fitted strappy dress is probably my favourite from Victoria Beckhams Spring 2013 Collection. It is just  the perfect combination of understated and sexy!

Silk and wool blend dress £1,850 at Net a Porter (

VB's dresses are all about the attention to detail and the strappy neckline, sheer panels and fitted skirt were all statement details from the Spring RTW collection.

These dresses by ASOS have the same amazing details for a fraction of the price!

Pencil dress £45 ASOS (

Midi dress with sheer panel ASOS £30 (

For the simple Victoria Beckham elegance but with a bit more coverage than the ASOS versions, this Karen Millen sculptural peplum dress is perfect and will be in your wardrobe for years without ever looking dated. The perfect go-to dress for a multi-tute of occasions...

Victoria Beckham's collections have definitely been the most anticipated of designer collections recently and it's definitely the one that I look forward to the most every time New York Fashion Week rolls around. And it actually has nothing to do with the prospect of catching a glimpse of that rather handsome hubby of hers...
